Two mirror art installations were recently set up on the banks of Jinji Lake in SIP, blending natural scenery with artistic creativity and infusing new vitality into the lakeside winter landscape.

Named “Wen Jing”, one installation draws inspiration from a paper airplane and a rising rocket. Boasting polished stainless steel surfaces, it has previously toured cities like Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai, earning high acclaim. Reflecting the lake’s shimmering waves, clear skies and urban skyline, it creates an intriguing sense of spatial displacement.

At the center of the installation, 3.84 meters high, a circular “Sky Mirror Light” symbolizes the Earth-Moon distance. It adjusts intelligently with natural light, with reflections merging with the night scenery to form a dynamic picture. From any angle, viewers can see a “full moon” in the mirror, which symbolizes inner wholeness and purity amid life’s complexities.

Nearby, at Jinji Station 09, another installation, named “Die Shi Kui Tian”, features a more Eastern aesthetic style. Inspired by rockeries in Suzhou’s classical gardens, its geometric lines reimagine traditional decorative rockery art. Also made of stainless steel, it captures the sky, clouds, architecture and visitors within its angles, folding the world into a miniature “mirror courtyard”. Notably, its colors shift with natural light.
