The delegation from the National University Biotechnology Regional Transfer and Transformation Center (Suzhou, Jiangsu) in SIP recently visited Hong Kong to attend the 2025 Jiangsu-Hong Kong Technological Innovation Cooperation Conference. During the tour, the delegation visited a number of local universities to seek cooperation in crossing the “Valley of Death”, which refers to the gap between academic research and industrial commercialization.

The center has established partnerships with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and City University of Hong Kong to help transform biomedical research outcomes from the universities into actual productivity.

Under the cooperation with PolyU, for example, the center provides teams led by the school’s professors with assistance in looking for sites, funds and support for commercializing their research achievements, and will invite them to participate in partnering and networking events in Suzhou in the future.
