SIP has been optimizing its layout and expanding the space for opening-up, while enriching the connotation and improving its capability of opening-up.

The industrial park has attracted more than 5,100 foreign-invested projects, including 174 by 104 Fortune Global 500 enterprises. Its actual use of foreign investment has exceeded US$40 billion. SIP therefore won the 2023 United Nations Investment Promotion Award.

SIP has made great efforts to introduce projects in strategic emerging industries, such as projects focusing on integrated circuits, biomedicine and aeronautical and auto equipment manufacturing. It also offers support for foreign-invested projects to upgrade their business portfolios and expand their business coverage to dabble in emerging industries.

At the same time, SIP provides a package of services covering consultancy on policies, financial services and talent training to help Chinese businesses pursue international development.

SIP strives to deeply participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the implementation of the national strategies for integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is also rolling out its experience to other areas for coordinated development and mutual benefits.
